The objectives of this research were to : 1) develop the teaching competency on retail business education 2) construct the
teaching indicators on retail business education 3) analyze factor of the
teaching competency and indicators on retail business education and 4) evaluate
effectiveness of the teaching competency and indicators on retail business. The
target group were teachers on retail business education. The 2 online
questionnaires, the scale of estimation of 5 levels. The statistics used for
the exploratory factor analysis and the confirmatory factor analysis.
From the results of the research,
it was found that:

the teaching competency divided into 2
groups, the core competency consisted of C1 professional development

indicators C4 Instructional method 2 indicators C5
Students’ Achievement 2 indicators C6 Languages Technology 2
indicators, the Professional Competency consisted of P1 Cashier 6
indicators P2 Storage Arrangement 3 indicators P3
Friendly Service 4 indicators P4 Sales Promotion 2 indicators P5
Systematic Management 2 indicators

The effectiveness of the core competency on
retail business indicated the mean score by the feasibility (
= 4.40, S.D. = 0.24), the accuracy (
= 4.31, S.D.= 0.24) and the propriety (
= 4.30, S.D. = 0.18). In addition, the
professional competency provided the mean score by the accuracy at the highest
mean score (
= 4.49, S.D. = 0.13), the propriety (
= 4.46, S.D. = 0.18) the utility (
= 4.44, S.D. = 0.19) and the feasibility (
= 4.39, S.D. = 0.24)
